As teachers, we are always striving to engage students in lessons and inspire them to try their best and work hard.  Often this can be especially difficult in the mathematics classroom.  Educational technology has given teachers the opportunity to provide engaging lessons that will lead to a deeper understanding of core concepts and ideas.

My presentation will focus on creating dynamic and engaging mathematics lessons using Coding programs and Audience Response Games.  Teachers will learn how to incorporate Code.org lessons into their math curriculum.   We will also discuss several Audience Response Games that will grab students attention and help them “learn through play”.  These websites include socrative, quizziz, and chartgizmo, plus many more.  Participants will leave this sessions with a list of apps and websites they can use immediately in their math classroom. We'll discuss where to find lesson plans that will be easy to incorporate into their regular weekly lessons, without much pre-planning.
